These are essential for the human body. They play a major role in our citric acid cycle, which is responsible for producing energy from macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats and proteins), resulting in increased energy metabolism.

Vitamins B12, B6 and B1 contribute to normal energy-generating metabolism.

B vitamin requirements are increased by drinking coffee and alcohol.
